Barack and Race.

Recent discussions between Barack and Hillary regarding race in America has been an interesting case study of contemporary race relations in American society. Barack versus Hillary, a black man versus a white women, experience over age, and “what have you done for me lately” politics have dominated the air ways. To be blatantly honest, the Clinton’s camp should be ashamed of their tactics and use of race baiting and here is why: 1. It is clear that the Clintons only evoked issues and matters regarding race to change the discussion from her tearing up in New Hampshire. When Tear-Gate was on the headlines, Hillary numbers were going down. Something had to be done. Hillary and Bill used race to change the discussion and dared Barack to battle them publicly over race. They did this because they were counting on America’s delusional belief that racism happens to whites from Blacks more then whites act racism out on Blacks. They challenged Barack and Barack backed down and took the non-confrontational route. The Clintons were right. To make things even worse, when this was apparent, Bill and Hillary released their house negro civil rights leaders on Barack’s black card in the Black community. Bob Johnson, the guy who sold BET to Viacom for millions of dollars and Charlie Rangel, the guy who fought to establish the original bill that made crack cocaine a longer sentence then power cocaine, came out knowing Barack was at a disadvantage on the issue and began kicking him while he was down and hasn’t stopped yet. The way the Clintons used race to get back ahead in the polls was one hand brilliant but on the other hand exposed their willingness to do what it takes, including destroy that which symbolizes what they claim to represent the most, Barack Obama. These situations showed how race is often used by white liberals, to get ahead.

During the 2000 presidential campaign, George Bush's history of alcohol and drug abuse, which included a 1976 DUI conviction, was revealed. It was pretty much a one day story, that has never resurfaced. After one of her staffers resigned following comments he made referencing Obama's admission of past substance abuse, Hillary Clinton vowed to dismiss anyone connected with her campaign who disparaged Obama. When asked during the Nevada debate if she would jettison Bob Johnson, she said no.Bush's history of substance abuse has not been mentioned by Bush opponents or their surrogates since 2000, while Obama's past indescretions have been constantly thrown in his face.Obama openly admitted his past abuse of alcohol and drugs in his book, while Bush barely acknowledged his past when the story broke. Sounds like politics (and racism) as usual.

What The Clintons are doing is no different then what funders and white libreals have done for years. Which is using black people to discredit other black people. More insulting is the black people that buy-in to this out dated tatic. My question is when will black people hold the gatekeepers that allow white folks to use race as a platform for politics and power whenever they feel like it and when will we begin to call out black people like "Mr. I'm rich as hell becuase I sold BET to a power house and allow them to potray black people as they are"?...Black people let's deal with our own as well.

how about Johnson's "appology" today. The Clinton campaign is so disgraceful. Politics is usually ugly but to see the clintons true colors (every pun intended) exposed is great. i have said for a long time that the clintons were liars. The irony is that Barack praisings Reagan is so disturbing that it actually makes sense on some levels. Barack's political manuvering is very similar to Reagan. The beauty is that Obama is holding his own while praising Reagan and being blamed for being young and inexperienced like the clintons were in 1992.

Reagan must be laughing his ass off in his grave. His political legacy and strategy is actaully helping a Black man hold his own against liar progressives and the full force of their machine.

I've been asking where are all the loud mouth Black people were supporting Barack. I've seen Michael Eric Dyson and Chris Rock, but wait until you see this shit from Andrew Young.

People keep a list of the Barack detractors. Not because people can't have their political opinion. But I haven't heard one legitimate reason not to back him. Actually most Congressional legislators who supported the Clintons down the road of shameful shenanigans and are beginning to run for cover and Bob Johnson had to come clean and apologize. Actually, the nigga's with the Clintons have chauffeured the car down that road.

I understand White people supporting Hillary and I understand Black people supporting her but you can not ignore the fact that Barack Obama has as much a right to run for president. I haven't heard one person from his campaign reduce themselves to the shameful tactics the Clintons have.

This is just a small part of the pie, well maybe. As I said before
race will come up over and over again. Please read the comments on this article. It stinks and gives the opinion that there still
is a great deal of work to be done.

Race Still Haunts State Police
January 18, 2008
Efforts to root out racism in the Connecticut's Department of Public Safety can't come soon enough. Racial tensions in the department are such that the slightest incident can be interpreted as biased.

State police officials, for example, recently asked three veteran black troopers to submit DNA samples to rule them out as the source of an African American hair found near the body of a slain Mansfield woman. On the surface, the request seemed reasonable. All three men are detectives who were summoned to the crime scene. All three have yet to comply, however, on grounds that they felt singled out because of their race. One trooper is suing the department.

Officials acknowledge that testing troopers for DNA to rule out forensic evidence is not common practice because, unlike fingerprints, troopers are not required to provide their DNA samples as a condition of employment.

Perhaps the samples should be required to avoid similar occurrences in the future.

The DNA issue is the latest of several race-related controversies that have dogged the department over the past year. The number of complaints is a sign that something's amiss; too many people feel mistreated, and that can't be dismissed.

Sgt. Andrew Crumbie, a former chief of staff and director of the state police forensic laboratory, has filed a complaint with the Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities, charging that he was demoted for political and racial reasons.

Also last year, troopers at the forensic laboratory were found to have exchanged racially charged e-mails.

The state legislature's black and Hispanic caucus has called for a public hearing on Jan. 29 to hear testimony on allegations of acism in the department and other state agencies.

Meanwhile, Public Safety Commissioner John A. Danaher III says he will focus on diversifying the department and the command staff. He is also implementing a diversity training program, tailored to law enforcement, and a "hostile work environment policy" to mediate conflicts among troopers and supervisors that might be perceived as discriminatory.

Good. The need to quickly change the culture at the state police cannot be underscored enough.
